The “Miradas de Esperanza” campaign was carried out at the facilities of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, an initiative that carries out visual exams and free delivery of glasses with measurements to the university community and citizens in general.

This action is developed thanks to the joint work between the Department of Medical Sciences of the ESPE, the Los Chillos Milenio Rotary Club and the Denver Lions Club.

Every day, around 600 people receive glasses completely free of charge, bringing clarity, well-being and new opportunities back to hundreds of families. 💙

Because when vision improves, quality of life also improves.

The Rector of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, Crnl. Mauricio González, made an official visit to the IASA – ESPE, with the purpose of seeing first-hand its facilities, evaluating its current state and talking with the administrative, academic and support staff that work in this unit.

During the tour, the main requirements, opportunities for improvement and institutional projections were reviewed, with the aim of strengthening management, optimizing resources and consolidating the academic, productive and technological development of IASA – ESPE.

This visit reaffirms the commitment of the authorities to the well-being of human talent, the continuous improvement of training spaces and educational excellence at the service of the country.

The University of the Armed Forces – ESPE held the great event “Carnival on Stage ESPE 2026”, organized by the University Welfare Unit in conjunction with all its clubs, promoting the cultural identity, integration and artistic expression of the university community.

With dance, musical and participatory activities, the traditions of the Ecuadorian carnival were revalued from a contemporary and formative scenic proposal.

#ESPEU, through the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications, held the I Technology and Innovation Fair for Defense and Telecommunications 2026, chaired by the Rector, Crnl. Mauricio González.

📡The academic meeting brought together students of the 9th level of Telecommunications Engineering, who presented innovative projects developed in the subjects of Telecommunications Systems for Security and Defense and Telecommunications Project Management. The fair promoted project-based learning, integrating telecommunications, electronics, programming, wireless networks, automatic control and innovation, with proposals aimed at entrepreneurship and the solution of real problems.

More than a technical evaluation, it was a space that strengthened leadership, teamwork and the comprehensive training of future engineers at the service of development and national security.

The University of the Armed Forces – ESPE participated in the Fair of Professional and Vocational Offers, at the Domingo Savio Educational Unit, in the canton #Cayambe.

🧐During the day, more than 700 students learned about our academic offer, training opportunities and professional projection, strengthening their vocational orientation process.

We continue to bring higher education closer to the country’s young people, inspiring informed decisions and building their professional futures together.

During the third Extraordinary Session of the Honorable University Council convened with document ESPE-HCU-CSE-2026-004 and in compliance with the provisions of Official Letter No. CCFFAA-JCC-DIEDMIL-P-2026-0695-O, Mr. Crnl. Mauricio González Mosquera, Rector of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, took possession of the following authorities:

✔️Crnl de C.S.M. César Augusto Tamayo Herrera; General Academic Vice-Rector of #ESPEU.

✔️Crnl of E.M.C. Henry Omar Cruz Carrillo; Vice-Rector for Teaching of #ESPEU.

✔️Crnl. CSM. AVC. Gonzalo Javier Pullas Tapia; Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer of #ESPEU

During the Third Extraordinary Session of the Honorable University Council, convened with document ESPE-HCU-CSE-2026-003, and in compliance with the provisions of Official Letter No. CCFFAA-JCC-DIEDMIL-P-2026-0695-O, the possession of Crnl. Mauricio González Mosquera, as Rector of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE and, consequently, President of the Honorable University Council.

At the IASA in #ESPEU, the Biochemistry Open House was held, a space where our students of the Agricultural career demonstrated that science is also transformed into real solutions for the field.

🧐 During the event, the students presented their R+D+i projects, focused on the extraction of bioactive compounds through biochemical techniques, their transformation into innovative products and the verification of their functionality through laboratory tests, with direct applications in the agricultural sector.

These projects reflect the commitment to research, development and innovation, integrating scientific knowledge with the productive, sustainable and technological needs of agriculture.

The event called “Forum: Role of Women in Science: Inspiring Trajectories of Women Scientists” was held, organized by the Ecuadorian Network of Women Scientists – Nodo ESPE, within the framework of the International Day of Girls and Women in Science.

The purpose of this academic space was to promote a university culture based on gender equity, non-violence and inclusion, through the development of spaces for reflection, academic dialogue and to make visible the contribution of women in the scientific field.👩‍🔬

✨ An initiative that promotes gender equality and the strengthening of female leadership in science.

The Medicine program of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE developed an integrative project with third-semester students, focused on the analysis of knowledge of alternative medicines and ancestral knowledge within the Ecuadorian legal framework.

This initiative strengthened the scientific, ethical and intercultural training of future doctors, articulating academic analysis with current regulations and social relevance in health.🩺📚

A significant space that consolidates professional competencies with a legal, scientific and intercultural approach, aligned with the constitutional and health framework of the country.
